Here you'll find answers to the questions we're most frequently asked. At Family Extensions Counselling, we believe in transparency and open communication. This section is designed to address your initial queries and provide a deeper understanding of what to expect from our services.
What are your rates?
Counselling sessions:
Individual- $180 per session
Couple or Family-$200 per session
Group-$70 per session
Can I use my insurance plan?
Yes. Counselling and therapy can be affordable. Most insurers cover therapeutic services provided by Registered Social Workers. Our view is that brief services can be of real help- and a small change/ progress might be all that it is needed.
What if I'm uncomfortable with the virtual format?
Some individuals may feel discomfort with the online format or find it difficult to take the first step. To address this, we offer an initial phone call to those that are hesitant, allowing them to discuss what might be holding them back.
Research shows online counselling is just as effective as in-person therapy for most mental health concerns and relationship issues. It is okay to feel uncomfortable with the online format; it takes getting used to for some. Also, you and your therapist will talk face-to-face on video, and it is completely confidential.
How to prepare for the first session: It's easy!
